Plane to Mass
shape forming folding + cutting + thickness foundation space analysis
Plane to Mass is a series of practices to build the sense of creating a space wiht the limited time of folding and cutting.
The first practice was processed without any material other than one piece of paper. This is the very first project I ever did at Pratt as I entered the Interior Design area.
The project is focused on creating an organic space through folding and/or cutting with some sense of unity among the each piece.
Later on, the first practice was iterated by adding thickness and volume. Thickness was added by stacking and gluing in a limited time.
